The temperature outside is frigid. I would love to sit all bundled up under a blanket reading but today is a writing day. I’m making progress on my bible study but the tempo is slow.
Beautiful images of our world found here on Distractify. I couldn’t pick a favorite. They’re all so stunning.
Do you dream of traveling the world to see those beautiful sites in the above link? How much fun would it be to go around the world meeting and filming a new person each day? This pair of filmmakers are doing just that. Check it out here.
Bored with your job? Would you like to work for a doggie daycare and be the puppy lifeguard on duty? Puppy Pool Party here.
A quote from Isak Dinesen:
“The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears, or the sea.”
Yesterday,to celebrate Veteran’s Day, my family and I decided to go All-American with our dinner. We had hamburgers with chips and dip (though hamburgers are not original to America, they are a staple!) It was all very yummy and Daddy grilled — Bonus! My role did not come in until dessert! (It’s the best part of the meal anyway!)
Keeping with the All-American theme, I was looking for something warm and filled with the flavors of Fall since the temperature outside started dropping. Thus, I turned to the humble apple crumble.
Turning to my favorite go-to cookbook, SkinnyTaste by Gina Homolka, I found the perfect recipe. This dessert turned out to be delicious and healthy!
One hour later, we were all sitting around the TV watching Agents of Shield enjoying our warm bowls of autumn apple goodness!
The other morning, Delta and I were out on her daily walkabout when a beautiful yellow leaf shining in the sun caught my eye. Suspended by a spider’s single thread, the leaf hung perfectly still and I was so captivated by its glorious color I wanted to take a picture. You should’ve seen me trying to contain all 34 pounds of puppy pulling on the leash and trying to take a steady shot with my phone in the other hand.
When I downloaded the image, I received a surprise. Oh sure, the leaf might be overexposed but I do believe I see a fairy sitting atop that bright yellow leaf. What do you think? Do you see a fairy?
“And as the seasons come and go, here’s something you might like to know. There are fairies everywhere: under bushes, in the air, playing games just like you play, singing through their busy day. So listen, touch, and look around — in the air and on the ground. And if you watch all nature’s things, you might just see a fairy’s wing.” ~Author Unknown

My house is beginning to have holiday smells, savory ones coming from the kitchen as onions and celery cook in preparation for making our Thanksgiving dressing. I know the debate wages between the merits of stuffing vs dressing but in our house, the family dressing recipe reigns.
This year will be our first Thanksgiving with our children and their spouses. We plan to overindulge in laughter and togetherness (and maybe a little food! )
Since my guests will be here through the weekend, I will take time to enjoy their visit and will be back posting next week.
If you’re looking for some background music while you cook, my friend, Sarah has a wonderful playlist put together of thanks giving music you can listen to here
“Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.”
