Quick Wall Art Project

Hey!

I love looking through home design books and finding take-away ideas!

This quick project was inspired by a piece of artwork I saw in
Downtown Chic by Robert and Cortney Novogratz.

I purchased a 16 x20 acrylic frame from Michael’s and about 15 bundles of silk daisies from the Dollar Store.

I took the white cardboard box out of the acrylic frame and replaced it with a piece of foam core board cut to size and painted green.

When the foam core dried, I hot glued the flower heads that I pulled off the stems to the board.

I added an inspirational word I stamped on paper and then, secured the finished foam core board into the frame with a few spots of hot glue on each side.

Quick Project

Hey!
I have a quick little project to share.
I saw an arrangement in a local gift shop that I just loved but the $76 price tag! Hm….. not so much.So, I decided to copy it — all that was needed was a pocket basket, some silk flowers and a bird’s nest.
I went to my local thrift shop and purchased this lovely basket along with several stems of hydrangea.The bird’s nest is an old Christmas ornament I had and I raided my stash of old silk flowers and found the dogwood.

Then, I went to Michael’s and purchased a sprig of yellow flowers on sale and a small bottle of chalkboard paint.

I painted the Christmas scene out with the chalkboard paint, added a little florist foam into the bottom of the basket to secure the flowers and a small amount of florist tape to anchor the bird’s nest to the basket and voila !!!

A cute addition to my back door for under $5!!!

Now, if I can only keep the wrens from building a nest in it…….

Beach House 2011

Hey!

I just got back from a wonderful vacation with my family on the beach!

We spent a lovely week in Seagrove Beach, Florida.

The weather was perfect, the water gorgeous and my family happy!!!

And now, if you’re like me… I know you want to see what our beach house looked like so…

First floor: Kitchen, Family room, and Dining room
Obviously, we were moving in!!!
First floor: Bedroom
Super cute pillow on the bed!!!
Second floor: Master bedroom with a covered deck
Cute beach-y frame (don’t know the kids but they’re cute!!)
Second floor: Master bathroom -love it!
Watch for more to come about this bathroom in a future post!!!

Both of these bedrooms shared a connected bath —
Third floor: Family room with TV, covered deck, and mini kitchen /bar area with ice machine

Cute dresser in the bedroom in that wonderful beach blue-green color
Third floor: Bathroom — also had a large shower and double pedestal sinks
View from the Third floor deck — the beach was about a 5 minute walk.
Isn’t the house great??!! We had plenty of room to spread out and relax!
We found this rental on VRBO (vacation rental by owner).
