Putting Your Face On

Hey!  I’m glad you’re here!  This post is part of a 31 Day writing challenge hosted by The Nester.  During the month of October, I’m writing on Southern A Way of Life.  I will be back to my ‘regular’ posts in November.  Consider pushing that follow button to the right for all my latest posts.  Thanks y’all!

Every morning, whether I’m going out to lunch with friends or to the gym, I apply moisturizing tint on my face.   I might vary the amount but I can predict with fairly certain accuracy that I’ll have it on.   I didn’t wear much make up growing up but, I’ve noticed as I’ve gotten older that I definitely benefit from a well placed amount here and there.   In the South, we call it ‘putting your face on.’

A few of my favorite products

Pixi Illuminating Tint & Conceal

Pixi Illuminating Tint & Conceal:  This line was developed by a model and I love it because it’s four products in one which cuts down my time.  It’s a moisturizer, a foundation, SPF of 20 and has a matching concealer in the cap.  I buy it at Target.

Lancome Khol Eye Pencil Black

Lancome  Kohl Eye Liner Pencils: I think my favorite colors are Black Lapis and Black Coffee.  I love these pencils because they last so long before you have to buy a new one and they go on so smoothly.  I buy them at Sephora but you can also buy them at department stores.

Nars eyeshadow in Fathom:  This shadow is a very pretty beige pink.  It’s great when you want only a little bit of color or as a base for more.  I buy it at Sephora.

On the video today, the girls and I dish on all things make up.  Doodlebug talks about a nude eyeliner which she uses as a lip liner.  The eyeliner is Scandaleyes by Rimmel.  The light blue eyeliner that my daughter-in-law mentions is also Scandaleyes by Rimmel.

What are your favorite make up tips and products?
