Wisdom From The Animals: Day 23
With their large canine-like fangs, sea lions are predators of the ocean. They were named sea lions for that reason and because the males sport a mane and both sexes vocalize with a roar. Sea lions also hunt and swallow their prey whole. They rely on their whiskers to aid them in the location of food nearby while swimming in the dark ocean.
“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8
Like the prey of a sea lion, I need to be alert and take proactive steps not to fall into the clutches of the devil. I need to avoid areas or things that would put me in danger of being swallowed whole. I also need to adopt an attitude that is not fearful but an attitude of calm watchfulness trusting that God is with me.
