Progress on the Bonus Room Renovation
Hey!
Progress. Oh, how I love progress in a renovation! We had managed a sizable dent into the project at the end of last weekend. The framing for the closet was beginning, the nail holes in the wall were puttied, and the bamboo flooring was acclimatizing as the work ended. Some of the wall also got painted to see if the color was the right choice.
During the week, my husband roughed in the closet and started preparing it for paint.
A week ago, my son-in-law ripped out the flooring in the bathroom. We discovered that the underlayment needed to be taken out because the previous owners had used the wrong kind. They had used particle board. Poor Devin, he was back at ripping flooring out this weekend too. We have to put down plywood as an underlayment for the new floor. They had also installed the particle board under the sheetrock. Messy job.
A lovely place to sit and contemplate … NOT!
At the end of Easter weekend:

Mistletoe Marketplace 2013
Hey!
Yesterday, I spent the morning at Mistletoe Marketplace. I look forward to this event every year. I love seeing the decorations and doing a little shopping with a friend. Usually, I take the opportunity to start some of my Christmas shopping but yesterday, I shopped for me.
The money raised from this event goes back into the community to fund projects for children like a Children’s Cancer Clinic and a summer camp for the under-served. Over 150 vendors from across the country set up booths in our Trade Market Center. The theme this year was “Be Merry” and the colors were bright pink, turquoise, lime green and bright blue.
I thought you might like to see a few pictures to get your holiday ideas flowing. I saw many DIY possibilities. : )
Wooden beads painted black and strung together with vases lined with greenery leaves
These snowball trees would make excellent DIY projects.
Various vendor decorations and items for sale
Decorations in the brunch tent
Hanging open air terrariums in glass globes
Decorations in one of the main aisles
I apologize for the blurry shot but I wanted you to see the reindeer up close and this shot was the best of the bunch.
A toppled-over-on-purpose tree for another aisle
Still need more inspiration? See these past Mistletoe Marketplace posts here and here.
Are you ready for the holidays? What do you like to do to get in the holiday spirit?
Blessings,
Mimi

When spoken words are not enough;
When words for prayers don’t come;
