I had a wonderful time with my cousin, Elizabeth, at the 4th Annual Becoming Conference 2014. I hadn’t seen her in quite some time and I don’t think we stopped talking much the whole weekend.
The conference took place at the Ridgecrest Conference Center nestled in the mountains of North Carolina near Asheville. The setting was beautiful but the weather was not. We had mist and rain. It didn’t dampen our spirits though, only our hair.
The conference ran from Friday afternoon to Saturday evening. 550 women from all over the country came to participate and ranged in age from teens to seniors.
The staff did everything in their power to put smiles on our faces and provide fun for the entire weekend. At registration, we were offered ice cream bars as we waited in line to sign in and then, we were handed a wonderful bag of goodies. We, also, enjoyed a Girls Night In watching “Mom’s Night Out“, taking pics in the photo booth, shopping the Cents of Style booth, and other fun activities. Thanks y’all!
We had fun meeting other people and I really enjoyed meeting, hearing, and seeing some of my favorite bloggers in person.
After we were settled into our rooms, we were welcomed to the weekend by Jen and Jenny, the event planners of the weekend. The keynote speaker was Kelly Swanson, who had us laughing about things only girls would understand.
The stage was cleverly decorated. I thought the banners and this burlap board would be great DIY projects.
Elizabeth and I attended these sessions.
- The Qualities of a Well-Loved Home by the wonderful Edie who blogs at Life{in}Grace.
- Clutter Free Forever by the very organized and practical Ruth who blogs at Living Well Spending Less.
- Encouragement for Capturing the Simple Moments of Your Day by the talented Paige who blogs at Simple Thoughts.
- How to Cut Your Grocery Budget in Half by Jenny, who was one of the event planners of the weekend. Her website is Southern Savers.
- Keeping it Affordable & Fashionable by the stylish Courtney from Cents of Style.
The Becoming Conference 2015 will be the first weekend of August next year. Crossing fingers, I can attend.
Blessings,
Mimi

Hello Mimi,
We met at the Becoming Conference at lunch; my husband and I sat down at your table. We were from the Dallas TX area (Prosper TX). We talked about our blogs briefly. I am just now able to search out your State of Hospitality blog and have signed up to follow. Beautiful photography.
Hey! Thanks for checking out the blog and for following. We enjoyed meeting y’all and chatting!
